Charlie Sharp is a current BA Fine Art student, working with printmaking, sculpture, painting and whittling, with a body of work exploring the mundane object of the broom and expanding into the world of paintbrushes. His work spans from comedic scaled down brooms, to repurposing old or broken paintbrushes into individual works of fully functional art, whittling their handles from scrap pieces of wood with handmade knives. Each handmade tool is crafted with the theme of function in mind, ensuring the paintbrushes paint, and brooms sweep, whilst presenting its own personality through its form.
